BICYCLE RENTALS:

Bike Tour participants are responsible for bringing their own bicycles to the event. If you cannot (or do not wish to) bring your bicycle to New York for the event, you can rent one from a number of rental bike shops in the city. FYI, Chelsea Bikes is just down the road from the Hilton Fashion District Hotel.

    The Cake Boss
    Meet our tour leader, Prof. Jenny Schiff Berg, Associate Professor of Food Studies at NYU, at the South Street Seaport and learn about the history of the original Fulton Fish Factory. From there we'll head to Brooklyn where we'll arrive in DUMBO and on to Williamsburg to search out a chic cheese shop, artisanal beers & chocolates, etc. Then on to Brooklyn Heights for a beautiful panoramic view of the NY Harbor and Manhattan and we'll taste some yummy Arabic food. After that we'll check out the Red Hook Winery! Yes, a winery in Brooklyn. We'll then head to Bay Ridge and to Coney Island and walk along the boardwalk to Brighton Beach, a community full of great Russian fare. We'll end at the Brooklyn Grange which is a commercial organic farm located on New York City rooftops. After that back to Manhattan to experience one last "foodie" experience, an authentic Mexican restaurant on the lower east side…perfect ending to a great day as it is Cinco de Maya!   • HAPPY HOUR & WALK ALONG THE HIGH LINE FOLLOWED BY DINNER AT FIG & OLIVE IN THE MEATPACKING DISTRICT


    Meet at the Porch along the historic High Line on the West Side of Manhattan. Here we'll have a drink and nibble before we head out for our walk to the Meat Packing District. The Porch is a sophisticated, beautiful space which borders the ornamental rails of the High Line structure. From here we'll head south on the High Line, which is a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side. We'll depart at the end of the High Line on Gansevoort Street and walk to the Fig & Olive for dinner. The Fig & Olive is a spacious, light-filled restaurant in the trhendy Meat Packing District whose cuisine is about passion for the best olive oils, flavors and cuisine from the Riviera & Coastal regions of the South of France, Italy and Spain.

  • FIVE BORO BIKE TOUR

    5 Bork Bike Tour
    The TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour starts in Lower Manhattan and heads north through the heart of Manhattan to Central Park and continues to Harlem and the Bronx, returning south along the East River on the FDR Drive. From there it crosses into Queens and then Brooklyn, where cyclists take over the highway before making the thrilling climb up — and down — the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Staten Island. The route is 42 miles, mostly flat except for the bridges. The ride lands on Staten Island at a fun outdoor festival and then it's a ferry ride back to Manhattan.
